One of the securest jobs that you can have today is a nursing job. Getting a nursing school education is the best way to be able to have a great nursing career. With a nursing school education, it will not be long before you will find a place to practice the education that you have earned.
There are three pathways that you can take if you want to enter the nursing field. You can choose to become a certified nursing assistant or a CNA, a licensed practical nurse or LPN, or a registered nurse, an RN. Some of these pathways will take a shorter time to finish but all of it will lead you to a nursing career.
After the training, a CNA will be able to start working within a month of less. The training and certification process for the CNA is very short and upon completion you can start working and earn an hourly rate which will depend on the area where you work. A CNA assists LPNs and RNs in taking care of patients and performing some of the tasks that nurses perform under the supervision of a nurse. This will help you gain a lot of nursing experience which you are working on a higher position.
If you want to pursue an LPN career, then you need to study in a licensed practical nursing school. If you want to further your nursing career, then the best way to go is to get an LPN education. You can start earning a big salary once you complete your education under 2 years. Working as an LPN you will be doing basic nursing tasks in caring for patients while being supervised by an RN. When you are working as an LPN, you can continue studying to become an RN going to school part time. Although many have proceeded to become an RN by completing their RN nursing education, some have chosen to stay as an LPN.
Being an RN, you will earn a salary which is bigger than the other two types of nurses, but you will also have the most responsibilities. In most hospital and medical institutions RNs are in charge of a team of LPNs. Seeing to the organization of nurses’ activities and making sure that all patients are given proper care are the main responsibilities of an RN. Being an RN is quite stressful, but it is also a very rewarding career. The pay and the benefits that an RN receives is well worthwhile for many.
Whatever type of nursing you take, entering a nursing school is a very wise career choice. As long as you can do a nurse’s job, then you will always have work to do. Being able to take care of other people is a satisfying and rewarding endeavor and, in the process, also get paid well above average.
